Upstream affects downstream
If you live anywhere on this map, you are an upstream
resident of the Lake Simcoe watershed. Water drains from the higher
points to the lake via a network of streams and rivers both above
and underground. Unfortunately this water carries too much phosphorus
into
the lake. Phosphorus also travels through the air but run-off from
urban and rural development is the main controllable source.
If we
don't take action, Lake Simcoe will continue to
deteriorate.
